Find the Chapter 2 addition for Silver

In honor of the release of a recent story, I've added a section to chapter 2: Gather the Spies and Shadows. If you're the first to spot the change and post here or in the Challenge thread, you'll earn one silver.

In other news, I've slowed in recording the Quest for Celnadon, for the point where I'm at is somewhat painful for me to remember. I can say no more.

But I have heard from Mother Terees finally. Seems she needed a long vacation in Sagewind's cave. She should be back in the heavens or walking Mernac soon. Odd, she seemed troubled about something, but I know not what so I shall wait.

Arleas's Challenge to Artisans

Mernac is just so darn full of ridiculously talented artisans that I had to beg for help.
I could go down to bended knee and beg the old fashioned way, but silver paves many fine paths.
Here's the link to the pertinent forum: Arleas's Challenge. This is where artisans can post their WIP or just jabber about whatever related to the making of. That part is always fascinating, for me anyway.

And here's a reiteration of the important stuff. All artisans are invited to participate. Read the Quest for Celnadon as it goes up chapter by chapter (1-2 a week), and submit pictures to illustrate the scene. Once a week goes by with at least one picture being submitted, I'll pay 1 silver to the artisan who created the pic. If more than one is submitted, I'll pay 2 or 3 different artisans 1 silver...aye, here's the rub. I have quite a bit of silver but it's not endless so I'm setting a tentative cap at 25.
One other note: Keep the pics pg-13 ish. If you have any questions about what that means, feel free to pm me. Basically, that means keep it clean enough to show your kid brother. Yes, Mernac is a site for artists and writers who happen to be adults, but if someone younger blunders in I want the pics on my stories to be gentle on their eyes.

BTW, everyone is encouraged to donate silver to the deserving artisans anyway...they work very very hard.

Prologue: Leap of Faith
Chapter 1: Hot End, Cold Comfort

If you accept my challenge, I look forward to tipping you much silver.

Consumed with the Quest

The prologue of Quest for Celnadon officially showed it's little face over at Mernac sometime last week. Leap of Faith, as this baby is called, should mark the beginning of many many weeks of stories. I'm not sure how many chapters it will take me to describe everything I've seen and heard or swiped from the Watchers' notes. Grath, funny little fellow that he is, proved most useful in this particular endeavor. I've had little luck convincing him of what century we're in, but that's not a big deal.

It's just as well I'm stuck in the Cave of Shadows compiling my notes and organizing my thoughts and generally abusing the Thought Recorder Spell. In all my many missions, I've hardly put my poor body through so much in so short a time... emotions too for that matter. No wonder Mother Terees suggested I take two moons to recover before even attempting another mission.

OOC Answer from Arleas

My Life as a God: Question of the Week - 1

Writing:-)
I can't remember all the details. I believe it was a writing contest notice I got from Long Story Short, a writing forum I belonged to for a few years. The words Free Contest had me skeptical, so I checked out the site. I even went so far as to ask Predators and Editors about Mernac. They reported that it's basically nothing more than a fanfiction site, which in some regards is true, but I believed in the OSC (open source creativity) idea...so I stuck around, got sucked into writing, posting, improving, refining, -- basically I got addicted to Mernac.

Part of what intrigued me about Mernac is the opportunity to shape a world. The motto - One world, endless possibilities - holds true, and writers and artists of all levels are invited to join and help shape this lovely world. The of all levels is important, I consider myself a fair writer most days and a good writer when I'm being extra kind to me, but the truth of the matter is that there's always more to learn about the art of writing. Mernac's a place where one can get honest feedback on a work, feedback that goes nicely beyond the "that's nice" point. I'm not a digital artist, but from the word around the forum, I gather there is good support and advice available for digital artists as well.

In conclusion, an ardent love of sci-fi and a blooming interest in RPGs and fantasy worlds brought me to Mernac.

WIP Jaedin and Jira Sequel

I've mentioned before, I'm compiling the notes from my recent adventures with the Tienores. My head is a little foggy on the whole traumatic issue, but it's coming along. I have five sections of it done. At this pace, it should take me little more than a moon to finish. Then, of course, comes many moons of refining, adding details, expanding on my thoughts. So much happened, it's hard to pare it down to essential details.

I have a title for the work, but I'm not sure I like it. Perhaps that too shall change in time. For now, I shall keep the title close...
